Cvc, owner of IDC Health, will buy 61% of the Group Quirón
The operation will culminate with the creation of the first hospitable group deprived of Spain and one of the main of Europe.
One of the main hospitable groups deprived of Europe begins to outline. The fund of main risk CVC, owner of IDC Health (the ancient Capio),will purchase in the next semamas 61% of the capital of the Group Quirón at the end Doughty Hanson. With this operation will create the main group hospitaliario deprived of Spain, with a total of 40 establishments and 30 sanitary centres, among them the centres of Barcelona Dexeus, Sagrat Cor or Clinic of Pilar.
María Cord, adviser delegated of Quirón, and member of the family shareholder of the company, will be the president of the new group together with Víctor Wood, maximum executive of IDC Health. The vice-president will be José Ramón Blond, that occupies the same charge in Quirón. The figures of the operation are not still enclosed, but especula with a value of some 1.500 millions in the sector, as they explain sources connoisseurs of the process. The family Cord will follow like minoritary shareholder of the new group that will control CVC that, among other participations is partner of reference of Abertis.
The integration, advanced by the daily Expansion and Five Days, supposes a dump total in the map of the sector in Spain, in which the insurance group Sanitas and Vithas, controlled by a society of which the family title of Almirall (Gallardo) has the majority, will remain to main distance of the first group. The new group, that will maintain the mark Quirón to the detriment of IDC Health, will integrate 40 hospitals (of which 6 are university),more than 30 sanitary centres, 6 residences and the only institute of sanitary investigation deprived accredited by the Institute of Health Carlos III. The work asistencial of the new group will cover all the medical specialitys, standing out in the diagnostic and treatment of cardiovascular pathologies and oncológicas. The conjoint activity in the 2013 situated around 5.000.000 of surgeries, 1.500.000 urgencies, 1.200.000 hospitable stays, 220.000 magnetic resonances and more than 100.000 treatments oncológicos.
Cvc purchased IDC Health to the Swedish group Capio in the 2011 by 900 millions. By his part, Doughty Hanson, once turn# into main shareholder of the Group Quirón, promoted the fusion with USP in the 2012 and to the following year purchased Teknon, of Barcelona to Magnum Main. Once closed the operation, CVC will control the set of the group.
